As law enforcement continues to battle a rise in violent crimes, resorts in and around the Las Vegas Strip are stepping up their security presence and procedures.
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas confirmed to News 3 Friday night that had started implementing heightened measures for Friday and Saturday evenings at its property.
All entry and exit points via Las Vegas Boulevard will be designated as entry-only or exit-only, in an abundance of caution, and in partnership with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
In addition, a safety screening, which includes handheld metal detectors, bag checks and the disposal of “open and oversized alcoholic beverages or glass products” will be required.
LVMPD officers will be present at all doors and Sky Bridge Doors will be limited for hotel guests, F&B reservations or rewards members.
A Cosmopolitan spokesperson said the measures will be in place “until further notice.”
