Rio sets Dec. 22 reopening in Las Vegas

Rio Las Vegas.jpgThe Rio will reopen Dec. 22 following COVID-19 closures since mid-March, marking the final Caesars Entertainment property to return to business.

Initially, the hotel will accommodate stays four nights weekly beginning on Thursdays, while the casino floor will be open all week, officials announced today.

“We recognize the incredible effort it has taken to reopen our resorts and get us to this important milestone, and we look forward to welcoming our team members and guests back to Rio with their health and safety still top of mind,” said Anthony Carano, president and chief operating officer of Caesars Entertainment, Inc., in a statement.

The reopening will also bring a remodeled sports book and operator, William Hill.

All-American Bar & Grille, Hash House A Go Go, VooDoo Steak and many of the Rio bars will reopen. The Rio buffet, like most buffets across town, will stay shuttered.

The performance schedule for Penn & Teller, the Rio’s top entertainment attraction, will be later announced, officials said.
