Henderson State of the City address focuses on Economic Opportunities

Henderson Mayor Debra March delivered her 2020 State of the City address on Thursday, Feb. 13 during a luncheon at Green Valley Ranch Resort.

The Mayor’s address, which was themed “Vision 2020,” highlighted significant accomplishments and presented what’s on the horizon for Henderson in the coming year.

More economic development is coming to Henderson this year – a major focus at today’s State of the City address. 

Mayor Debra March highlighted businesses and made a big announcement with the help of the Vegas Golden Knights.

The big announcement was a brand new Hockey arena will be built at the Henderson Pavillion. The home ice for the American Hockey League team coming to town soon.

A multi-million dollar project adding to the growing Henderson economy.

Mayor Debra March made a grand entrance with the help of the Knight Line.

Along with hockey in Henderson, she highlighted various economic priorities. Big companies like Amazon, Google, Haas Automation and the Raiders plan to start operations this year.

On the east side, Henderson Hospital built a new tower and the Boulder Highway street project is underway.

Water Street District is also seeing improvement.

Two new mixed-use projects are coming and renovation of the former Bank of America building.

“These projects are the future of Water Street because they reflect how people will live, work and play all within walking distance. 20 years ago this was just a vision, now it’s a reality,” said Debra March, Mayor of Henderson.

Mayor March wants to make Henderson a digital-driven city in the 21-st century.

She adds the city is focused on bringing high paying jobs so people can live in the housing being built around the city.
