Brain Balance Achievement Centers in Henderson and Summerlin announced today they have both earned the designation of Board Certified Cognitive Center (BCCC), granted by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).
Brain Balance was founded in 2007 and currently has more than 100 centers. Brain Balance employs a personalized and integrative approach through sensory engagement, physical development, academics and nutrition. The Henderson and Summerlin locations recently completed the certification program through IBCCES, which requires staff to complete a professional training and certification program centered on working with individuals with autism, anxiety, ADHD and dyslexia. The goal of the program is to supplement the staff’s existing knowledge and expertise and provide them with updated best practices and strategies for working with a neurodiverse clientele.
“It’s all about raising the bar when serving kids and families, and that’s what this certification provides. For over eight years, we have provided hope and change in Southern Nevada for children and families and the goal is to serve more families so more children with academic, behavior and/or social challenges can reach their true potential and parents can look forward knowing their child will have a happy, health and independent life. We are the first and only Board Certified Cognitive Centers in southern Nevada,” said Susan DeVito, president of Summerlin and Henderson Centers.
For the last eight years, the Henderson and Summerlin centers have provided the Brain Balance Program to children ages 3-17 and recently added the Reboot Program for ages 18-24 for those struggling with college, life, work, habits, socialization, relationships and more!
“Professional training is incredibly important in our industry, and IBCCES has standardized training and certification that is globally recognized,” said Dr. Rebecca Jackson, Vice President of Programs and Outcomes at Brain Balance Achievement Centers. “We worked closely with the IBCCES team to develop instruction that meets the needs of our more than 100 centers. This new training program will give our team an even greater understanding as they work with students who face challenges with attention and focus, anxiety, learning, socialization and more.”
For almost 20 years, IBCCES has been the industry leader in cognitive disorder training and certification for education, healthcare, and corporate professionals around the globe. IBCCES provides evidence-based training and certification programs created in conjunction with clinical experts and individuals with autism in order to provide professionals serving individuals with cognitive disorders a better understanding of what these disorders are, industry best practices, varied perspectives, and the latest research in these areas.
“IBCCES is happy to announce the teams at these two locations have completed and committed to additional training and certification so they can continue helping students with varying needs,” said Myron Pincomb, IBCCES Board Chairman.
